HK Indie Short Film Award 2025

Say what you are, not what you would like to be, not what you have to be, just say what you are, and what you are is good enough.” John Cassavetes

Origin

With the suspension and budget cut of some important short film competitions in Hong Kong, as well as the invisible red line of the new film censorship rule, which may limit exposure for some promising short films and the recent dispersion of numerous filmmakers worldwirde, we hope to establish a platform through the competition to support aspiring independent filmmakers, giving them a space to publish their works and receive recognition.
